Nehal was fiesty and expressive with her emotions right from day 1. That’s why she used to get a lost of coverage and was always a topic of discussion in Weekend ka Vaar. The problem she was also ‘kaan ka kaccha’ .. she took Salman’s opinion of creating mountains out of molehills too seriously .. and started becoming quieter and raising less issues. When she created a hue and cry about Amaal’s behaviour in the task, Farha denounced it as a ‘Womens card’. She should have fought back saying it is not and yes, women should be treated differently than men. You can’t lift up or lie on top of a woman like a man .. so stop saying it is a women’s card and it is basic manners and respect. She should have empahsized that against Salman too once .. she raised it one saying ‘Farhana did not give consent to Abhishel to lift her so it is wrong’ but Salman’s fiery response shut her.
All this intimated her and she became less expressive. She still used to fight back strongly against Tanya and even fought back strongly against Malati in her task when she threw away the teddy bear. But when she got the infamous feedback in WKV that she looks ‘obsessed’ with Tanya she suddenly flipped and went quiet .. no fights or discussions with anyone.. just her usual chats with Farhana. She also got the feedback that she provoked Malati that’s why she threw the teddy. Those inputs and also, in my opinion, she started believing that she should follow GK’s strategy of not giving air time to anyone by just not fighting or arguing with anyone. She got in her head (like GK) that by arguing with anyone you are giving them ‘footage’ and falling into their trap as they want to pick fights to be noticed. That strategy might have worked for GK as he had a massive fan following that stick with him no matter what. It does not work for everyone .. the contestants should realize they are not in bigg boss to stay quiet all day to deny others ‘footage’. She gave this new strategy away when Malti taunted her saying ‘pehle kapde pehen ke baat kar’ .. she protested but very feebly .. the when Tanya was laughing at her comment and Kunika slammed Tanya for that, Nehal went ‘Kunika ji, juts ignore her .. don’t give her attention..don’t giver her footage as she’s doing it just for that’. The big mistake in this thinking is that by denying her footage you are completely eliminating yours too! By fighting her on this point you are not just giving footage to her but also getting valuable footage yourself and focus should be on that. A very bad strategy by Nehal that led to her downfall! She should have protested strongly and exposed Tanya that her ‘women power’ dialogues are khokhla as she is laughing at such a comment etc.
She should have continued being strong and vocal against Tanya and anyone else rubbing her the wrong way. ‘I don’t care, main aisa hi hoon’ works in bigg boss. Not changing yourself completely based on feedback. She should have said strongly that Malti throwing the Teddy was still unfair to everyone else who lost out on ration due to her etc etc. By choosing not to engage with anyone she inadvertently knocked down her contribution in the show. People are not going to vote for you just for your fashion (though that was mind blowing!). You have to contribute, you have to engage and argue/fight whare you think you are right and others are wrong .. else what’s the point of being in bigg boss?
